How to communicate effectively with each Human Design Type

Each Human Design type has its own way of sharing their way of being and doing with the world.  In order to get the best out of those around you here are some helpful tips for communicating with those around you both professionally and personally.

For those of you who are new to Human Design you can find out more here.

Communicating with a Generator:

When communicating with a Generator be curious about what is peeking their interest but also try to identify what is draining their energy at the moment:

  • Tell me what you’re doing right now that you really enjoy?

  • Are there any tasks you are doing that you would like to give up?

  • What is exciting you right now about the work you are doing?

  • What tasks do you not have energy for right now?

  • Would you like to do this or that right now?

Communicating with a Manifesting Generator:

When communicating with a Manifesting Generator be curious about what is peeking their interest ask them, be curious about how many interests they have:

  • What is really exciting you right now?

  • What would you like to drop right now?

  • Tell me how you are able to do it all?

  • I love to hear about what you are doing. Can you share with me the next big project you are working on so I know how to support you?

Communicating with a Projector:

When communicating with a Projector really make them feel valued for their perspective, they will open up the more you encourage them to share this with you:

  • That's a really interesting perspective. Can you explain to me how you formed your thoughts on this?

  • I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

  • Can you let me know if you think there is a better way to do this?

  • You have such a unique view of things I really appreciate your input, you bring so much to the team.

Communicating with a Reflector:

When communicating with a Reflector it is important to check with them about how they are really feeling, what vibe are they getting from their surrounding and ask them how it can be improved to make them feel better:

  • Take your time making a decision. I know you need time to process.  When you are ready to decide, let me know your choice.

  • Is there anything about the environment that doesn’t feel right to you, what would make it feel better for you?

  • You are a really important part of this team, its really important to us that you feel good being part of it.

Communicating with a Manifestor:

When communicating with a Manifestor it is important to led them lead with their energy. Notice when they are being pulled by their urge to do something, don´t get bogged down in detail with them, they will find this very frustrating:

  • Can you share with me what is exciting you to pursue right now?

  • Is there any way I can support you as you pursue this?

  • Do you have any ideas to kickstart this project, you are great at coming up with ideas for the rest of us to implement?

  • What tasks are really draining you right now?

Knowing how to ask the right questions means you will bring out the best in each type that you surround yourself with.  Each type feels seen, understood and shines in their own right.  Harmony is felt throughout the team, your family or your network as you communicate to the needs and desires of each type.  You compassionately communicate with their strengths and you allow them to comfortably share what they are not enjoying and want to let go of.

Effectively communicating your needs and desires is an important life skill, knowing how to ask the right questions allows those around us to communicate their needs as effectively as possible.
